# Privacy

The short version: what you type into Shelf Sonnet stays in your browser. There are no accounts, no adverts and no cookies.

## What you type, paste or count

Poems, words to rhyme, page counts, goals and shelf measurements are worked out by scripts running on your device. None of it is sent to this site or to anyone else. The meter counter and rhyme finder download the pronouncing dictionary from this site, as an ordinary file, and search it in your browser.

## What is stored on your device

Two things, in your browser’s local storage, and only when you use them:

- **shelfsonnet-theme**: your light or dark theme choice, if you pick one.
- **shelfsonnet-goal**: the values in the reading goal planner, so your plan and progress are there when you come back. “Start over” on that page deletes it.

Nothing else is stored. You can clear both at any time in your browser’s settings for this site.

## Analytics

Shelf Sonnet uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking. It does not use cookies, and it never receives what you type, paste or enter into the tools.

## Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. As with any website, the servers handle your browser’s requests for pages and files in order to deliver them.
